Amboise and the Clos Lucé

Built on a rock overlooking the river Loire, the Château Royal d'Amboise followed many fortifications which had been built since the Gallic-roman period.
This magnificent Renaissance masterpiece was the home to many well-known people. A tunnel used to lead to Clos-Lucé, ancienne demeure de Léonard de Vinci (Leonardo da Vinci’s former home), which now houses a museum dedicated to his fabulous machines. |
